About Us

Raised on the beaches in Southern California I have traveled all over the world for business and pleasure.  One of my favorite things to do is to enjoy a new seafood dish in a new location and if shrimp is on the menu, then I’m diving right in!   Many amazing places and experiences have laid their fingerprint on the creation of this perfect Shrimp Shack shrimp dish masterpiece: from New Orleans, Italy, Sydney, Los Angeles, France, Kansas City, Vancouver, Hawaii, Southern California, Mexico to the Caribbean and every place in between.  Shrimp Shack is a wonderful shrimp dish using the perfect combination of herbs, spices and ingredients to create a uniquely one-of-a-kind incredible mouth-watering shrimp dish.  Congratulations on finding us, now go ahead and order our Shrimp Shack perfection.  You’ll see for yourself how incredible this shrimp recipe is.

My love for shrimp and seafood started as a young child when my father would take me to the various tide pools and beaches up and down the Southern California and Mexico coasts.  The most amazing part was watching my father dive right in and catch and gather all kinds of creatures which would make their way onto our dinner table later that evening.  And on occasion he would pop a creature in his mouth right then and there; giving me a big grin as he watched my eyed light up in amazement.  Then I’d help him make his magic in our kitchen and create various seafood dishes as well as his famous seafood cioppino dish.

Our adventures continued and fond memories are filled with a prize catch of an octopus in Dana Point and squid run on the same area, many grunion runs from Huntington Beach, Newport Beach to Rosita Beach, Mexico.  Gathering mussels and sand crabs off the rocks of Morro Beach.  Crabbing and fishing off the Morro Bay pier.  Fruitful fishing off the pier near Pismo beach.  Diving for lobster in Corona Del Mar.  Abalone in Laguna Beach.  My father is of Italian descent by way of South America, Peru. He migrated to the States through New Orleans in the 60’s, before landing in Southern California.

Through high school and college I worked at Anthony’s Pier II Seafood restaurant in Newport Beach, California.  Working in the oyster bar where I honed in my love for seafood and creating great dishes and learning how certain spices and herbs enhance a dish.  Over the years I’ve become an afficiendos of going to wonderful beaches and ‘consuming’ shrimp – all kinds of shrimp in all kinds of places and ways, from eating live tiny shrimp in Taiwan to my perfected secret Shrimp Shack Dish, which I’ve perfected over nearly two decades and have made for many friends and family throughout the years – and at each time we get together, they beg me to make Shrimp Shack for them.
